The BEST health care at the LOWEST cost for ALL Alaskans

Health
care in Alaska
is grossly inadequate. This is true for
veterans and non-veterans alike. More
than 116,000 Alaskans are uninsured. The
rest are caught between ever-rising premiums and lowered coverage. Such POOR health care in America’s RICHEST state is a DISGRACE, especially for 250,000 Alaska veterans, serving military and our
families. Last year the VA only served
the health care needs of 13,000 vets out of 75,000 Alaska vets, and didn’t serve our families
at all! TRICARE is short-changing Alaska serving military
and their families, in wartime no less.
In short, health care for all Alaskans is a real mess. While the politicians are talking health care, we
veterans are actually DOING health care!
We, Alaska Vietnam veterans established Vietnam Veterans of America
(VVA) Anchorage Chapter 904 to improve Vietnam veteran
health care. We then founded the Alaska Veterans Foundation to ensure the best possible
health care for ALL Alaska veterans,
resident serving military, and our families.
Within the Foundation we created the Veterans Endowment Trust (V.E.T.)
to help fund our health care. The V.E.T.
is solely and transparently invested in secure U.S. Treasury securities.
Both
VVA 904 and the Alaska
Veterans Foundation are non-profits.
Non-profits cannot engage in politics.
We 904 vets created a separate organization called the Veterans Party of Alaska that can engage in politics. Political parties may not discriminate for or
against anyone. Therefore, all Alaska
residents eligible to vote can register, or change their voter registration, to
the Veterans Party of Alaska. The primary concern of the Veterans Party is
to ensure the best health care for all Alaskans.
We
veterans are rapidly building the largest
health care insurance group in Alaska within the Alaska
Veterans Foundation. In response to
numerous requests from non-veterans we created an “associates” class of
membership in the Foundation for all those resident Alaskans who are NOT veterans, serving military, or family members of veterans/military but who
wish to become affiliated with us. They too are eligible for
free membership in the Foundation’s health care insurance group and can also
benefit by having access to the best health care at the lowest member cost.
Our goal is to concentrate
both health care money and the largest health care insurance group within the
Foundation. We seek to have a
competition between Blue Cross and Aetna – the two largest health care insurers
in Alaska –
to see who will provide our members with the best health care coverage at the
lowest member cost. We wish to offer our
members a menu of health care
coverage choices rather than just high and low options. We also seek to establish a group plan where
all members – even children – will
have their own individual health
care coverage that stays with them regardless of family changes. We will also establish a voluntary , tax-free, annual PFD assignment option
that
will
cover the members’ annual cost of
basic health care coverage on an individual basis with our unique free
oil-money PFDs.
We
veterans have been told many times over the past several months since we
started building Alaska’s largest health care insurance group that we are
literally providing the best universal
health care for all Alaskans.
That’s true, we are! Indeed, who
better than we - who have put our lives on the line for our country - to do
this for ourselves, our families, and our fellow Alaskans? Join with us today. Register yourself
and your family, especially children, (1 person per form) in the Foundation and
help us build the most dynamic and
comprehensive health care insurance
group in America. Tell all your friends as well!
The Foundation’s other main
concern is to foster the embrace of our
veterans and serving military. To this
end the Alaska Veterans Foundation annually
presents the Veterans Day Concert
at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts. This “embrace” of all those who stand guard
for America provides 90 minutes of professional uplifting music, videos,
awards, and recognition. The concert is FREE for all veterans, serving military, our families, and the
community. Since 2004, this event has
been designated as one of only 20 official celebrations of Veterans Day in our nation.
